I am new to ‘Contact Form 7’ and want to ask a configuration/application related question to people with experience with this plugin.

Is it possible to support ‘User Surveys’ using ‘Contact Form 7’ + ‘Flamingo’?

With the user controls (buttons, drop downs, text fields) supported by the plugin, it seems like just a few steps from supporting ‘User Surveys’ if ‘Flamingo’ could be used to save the responses.

I guess there would have to be a way to filter the stored messages in ‘Flamingo’ to retrieve the survey responses. Maybe move them to a spreadsheet where analysis could be performed.

I know there are plugins that have been designed specifically for implementing ‘User Surveys’. Our site is already using ‘Contact Form 7’. Just wanted to know if installing ‘Flamingo’ would allow us to implement a ‘User Survey’.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

    Yes!
    I figured it out.
    Here is what I learned.

Installed ‘Flamingo’ 2.2.3 on WordPress 5.9.1 running ‘Contact Forms 7’ 5.5.6.

Created a ‘survey’ form using the various controls supported by ‘Contact Forms 7’ (radio buttons, checkboxes, text fields, labels, …).

On the ‘Additional Settings’ tab, I added these setting:

    skip_mail: on
    flamingo_subject: “RAC Meeting Preference Survey”

When the form is ‘submitted’, there was no need to send an email to anyone in my case and the responses are collected under the ‘subject’ name “RAC Meeting Preference Survey”.

I named the form “RAC Meeting Preference Survey”. The name is used to access the survey responses. To access the answers submitted to the survey, the ‘inbound messages’ under ‘Flamingo’ on the channel named “Contact Form 7 / RAC Meeting Preference Survey” are viewed by setting the filter to that channel then exporting them to a CSV file.

Created a ‘draft’ test page containing only the shortcode generated for the form. Used the ‘preview’ button to test the form then looked in the ‘inbound messages’ list under ‘Flamingo’. I was able to filter on “Contact Form 7 / RAC Meeting Preference Survey” then export the data to a CSV file.

I guess there will be a “Contact Form 7” channel for each form that is supported on the website.
