    Hello,

I want to ask if anybody has tried to implement user specific custom fileds for events or event-locations?

What I mean is the following: If the site is non-public and the user has to log into the wordpress site, then there would be the opportunity to give the user possibilty to add some private notes (textfields) or drop-down values for classifications or what ever in his profile and make those fields visible in the single event (or event-location) page specifically for him.

    Thank you and best regards
    Burkhard

  • That is not built-in to EM, but you’ve guessed that already, I think. ??

It sounds more like a user database should handle that. I know that EM works very well with BuddyPress, but I have personally never used it, so I don’t know if you could do it with that. It might be worth looking into, though.

You can use PODS to add custom fields to existing post types, I’ve tried this with EM and it does work, the issue will be displaying it to the user

@david-279 if they’re using the loop to display the event, you can easily incorporate those fields in the display using Pods Templates and the Auto Template function, or you can pull them in through regular PHP Templating.

Here’s an example (around the 20 minute mark) of the Pods Templates and Auto Templates which uses the_content filter.
