I’ve recently created a new page template which eliminates the normal two sidebars in my theme (Cutline 3-column Split v1.4.3CS) in order to spread my TablePress tables to the full width of the screen.

But in doing so, the sort arrows have disappeared and the sort feature is no longer available to the readers. It’s the same in Firefox, Safari and Chrome. The table(s) show up perfectly but the ability to sort is gone.

I’ve disabled all plugins except for TablePress and the anomaly is still there.

    Can you help?

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

If this happens with all plugins deactivated, except for TablePress, there’s likely some JavaScript conflict going on with the theme.
To verify that assumption, could you temporarily switch to the WordPress default theme TwentyTwelve and check with that?
Also, if you post a link to the page with the table, I will take a look and try to find that conflict.

    Regards,
    Tobias

I’m also having this issue. If it helps, I just exported these from the WP-tablesreloaded plugin.
https://swtor.crystal-dreams.us/?page_id=2 Here is one of the pages I have with the tables.

    Hi Emi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

In your case, this is caused by the “Image Gallery with Slideshow” plugin.
That is loading it’s own (and with 1.2.6 totally outdated) version of the jQuery JavaScript library, instead of using the up-to-date version 1.8.3 that ships with WordPress.
This is not only causing trouble in TablePress, but in many other plugins as well. You will therefore have to deactivate that plugin. You could try to contact the developer of that plugin, and ask him to fix his plugin, but given that the last plugin update is from 2011, I doubt that this will happen.

    Tobias

Hi! Thanks so much. That did fix it ??

Thankfully, I’ve only used it for two things so disabling it isn’t a big deal. Thank you again for your help! <3

I activated the Twenty Twelve theme and checked. Sure enough, the sort arrows appear. Must be something in the Cutline 3-column Split code that’s squelching the feature.

I think it has to do with the new no-sidebar page template that I dabbled with.

Here is the link to the TablePress page as is:

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Frank,

    thanks for the link!
I checked the source of the page, and it seems that your page template is not loading the footer of the theme. Without this footer, no JavaScript code is loaded and due to that, the sorting does not work.
I recommend to start over with the page template, from a working one, or compare what the other page templates have at the bottom that is missing in your page template.
