User Reviews – control who can write them

Hi guys and gals

I have a simple directory style site and would like to add the user reviews extension. The issue I am having is that only a registered user can write a review, while the sites primary purpose is for non registered users to find and contact registered users.

I don’t want to force people to register just to write a review, plus I don’t want to allow reviews to be posted by non logged in users because this will ultimately result in fake reviews (plus UM User Reviews doesn’t let me do that anyway).

Therefore, one option we considered was to only give admin the ability to post reviews, and ‘guests’ would need to submit reviews via an alternative method, for review/manual addition by admin… although this isn’t ideal either, plus also isn’t an opton with UM anyway…

So I am just throwing this out there to see if any wonderful people like you have a good suggested solution to this little challenge?
