I have two questions about the WPUF system for a user to use to reset their password.

    1. Is there a way to edit the message users see on the lost password screen? Right now it says “Please enter your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email.” I’d really like to tell people who that email will come from to help them locate it.

    2. Is there any way to change where this lost password form redirects to when submitted? Right now it redirects back to the login screen, which is confusing some of our users. My guess is that they are not reading the message on the initial reset password screen and when they get redirected to the login screen they then think that the reset system has not worked. Many of our users are not very tech savvy so it would be much better if the password reset form could be redirected to a custom page that would tell them what will happen next.

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @bghooke
    Thanks for writing to us.

    1. You can change the string by translating easily. You can follow this doc to know how to translate.
    2. I am assuming you are relating this inconsistency issue which is fixed with ver-3.5.2.

Let me know if you may have further queries.
    Regards.

    Thank you MM.

On #1 the directions did not seem to fully apply since there isn’t a new language file for me to download so I jumped down to the “manually editing…” section. Here’s what I did, that did not seem to work:

    1. Found the file wp-user-frontend.pot in the folder wp-user-frontend/languages and opened it Poedit.
    2. Clicked on the button to “Create new translation” and selected “English (United States)”
    3. Searched for the line in question and edited it.
    4. Saved the file as wp-user-frontend-en_EN.po in the folder wp-user-frontend/languages (I also tried putting it in “/wp-content/languages/plugins/”)
    5. Uploaded the new .po and .mo files
    6. Checked to see if the message had changed. It had not.

    What did I do wrong?

On #2, it looks like that issue has been fixed. If we can figure out #1 I will probably edit this message but the basic issue has been addressed.

    Hello @bghooke

Your above process seems okay to override the message but not sure why it’s not affecting your side.
Would you please contact us from here? So that we can take care of your issue.

    Best regards.
