User registrations. Any security issues

  • People are always registering on my blog. However aside from their names and e-mail addresses they do not add any other info and never actually do anything. Nor do they respond to e-mails. Is there any security risks that they might be exploiting?

    I’m getting between 80-100 bogus registrations on my blog daily. They’re coming primarily from Russia and Ukraine. I can’t see what purpose the registrations fill, but if so much effort is being taken to make fake registrations, I’m concerned that someone who understands the WP software better than I has figured a way to game my blog.

    I delete the spurious registrations a couple of times a day, but that doesn’t allay my fears.

    Can you see any point in these registrations?

    theyre spam registrations. theyre a crossover from spam-laden forum registrations. delete them or install a plugin that takes care of them.
