• I’m running WordPress 4.6.1 on BlueHost and am having problems with user’s registering. When a user attempts to register they get a “Suspected bot” error message. My BlueHost account is Basic Web Hosting with Domain Privacy Protection, Domain Name Registration, and Sitelock Security-Lite. The BlueHost representative told me the problem is with WordPress versus BlueHost. I believe the only active plugin on my WordPress installation is MOJO Marketplace. I’d greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix the problem I’m having with user registration.

to rule out any plugin/theme specific conflict, try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Tara: Thanks for the tip. I disabled the MOJO Marketplace plugin and that seems to have fixed the problem. Now if I could only figure out how to install an SSL certificate to protect user information during the registration process.
