I’ve looked everywhere but do not see a method or shortcode to place the auto-generated user password from WordPress in the notice email.

    How can I do that?

We use the user/customer import/export from Webtoffee and once you import the list of users (empty password column), WordPress generates a password for that user. There is an option available to tick that allows the system to send the details to the user after import. This action creates a bit of duplication as BNFW sends a notice (Post user-registration) AND the system sends a notice – problem is that the second notice does not seem to be overridden by BNFW. If I disable the second notice, I’m left with the BNFW notice email but no way of showing the generated password.

Is there a solution / workaround for this? The website is a closed system and only users setup by admin have access to it.

Urgently need help as this site needs to go live soon and up to now we have been going back and forth trying to find a solution.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi @ukuyilam,
    Thanks for your message.

Unfortunately, since WordPress 4.3, it’s not possible to send a password in an email. Instead, this functionality was replaced with the password reset URL instead.

It sounds like the Webtoffee plugin is preventing BNFW from overriding the notification. The notification you’d ideally want in BNFW is called ‘New User Registration – For User’. The ‘Post-registration Email’ is sent at the same time but can’t send the password reset URL. Some people like to use this for a more professional follow-up email to the user registration process.

Hope this helps clarify things a bit.
