• As always thanks to anyone for their help in advance. Here’s the scenario and the question.
Lets say that I run a business called Jim Bobs small business Word Press hosting where I am running Word Press in MU providing websites to small business in my community for a very low cost.
And lets say that the local plumber comes by, creates a site and maps the 3rd level site to a TLD and starts blogging about how to sweat two copper pipes together. Now lets say that someone comes by and wants to comment on the post but in order to do so must be a registered user. So here’s the question.
When a visitor wants to register to comment on a 3rd level site mapped to my customers TLD is there a way to create a custom registration page reflecting the colors/logo etc of the 3rd level domain rather then the original TLD? I’m thinking that this likely isn’t possible but before I closed the book on this question wanted to see what the experts can provide in the way of guidance.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Thanks Andrea,
Your answer is a bit general and hopefully you can provide clarification.
I’m aware that I can create a sign up page template and am actually using a custom designed sign up page, but can the 3rd level domain in an MU environment have their own sign up page with their own colors, logos etc so that anyone registering for an account form their site are constrained within the walls of the 3rd level domain?
As it is now (in terms of how I’ve been able to get it to work) a new user who clicks on the register link from the 3rd level domain goes to the sign up page for the TLD and is a user for the entire network.

Yes. Just like I said. Take the wp-signup.php code, put it in a page template. Change what you need to redirect to your new page slug.

The only thing that might not work that way is password recovery.

But if you truly need it that separate, I would question the use of using multisite to do it and not a standalone install.
