User Rank Below “Editors” Cannot upload image but select images

    Dear Mr Jeff,

    I have noticed only editors can upload image via add media, add media only allows below rank users to select from library.

    Any other way i can get around this?

    Hey darksilence,

    Yes that is due to a limitation within WordPress itself. As of WordPress 4.5, only Authors, Editors, and Admins are allowed to upload files via the “Add Media” feature, regardless of whether the user is on the backend or frontend.

    I wrote an article about this for the Pro version, most of the concepts also apply to the free version as well.
