There is a usability issue for sites where use of Avatar images is disabled or otherwise customized (since it’s a pluggable function).

The only clickable link content on the ticket edit page is the output of get_avatar(), when the feature is disabled there is no link available to view a user’s profile.

Please consider linking the user name or providing other UI elements. This may also enhance usability for visually impaired support agents.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  • Hi @deltafactory

Thanks for reaching us, while I investigate, let’s see if you might be running into conflicts with your theme or another plugin. The fastest way to find out for sure is to start by temporarily switching your theme to one of the basic WP themes (e.g.2015/16/17/19/20). Then, if the issue still keeps happening, try turning off other plugins one by one until the problem disappears. The last one that you turned off before the problem is fixed is the one conflicting.

    Regards.

I am not able to change themes on a production site. I had laid out a clear test-case which I will now document for you with images.

    First, the view you expect:

In this image, the link to the user’s profile is the avatar placeholder.

    The view I am reporting:

The avatar image is gone and so the link is no longer visible/usable.

The only setting changed to achieve this difference is in the admin Settings > Discussion towards the bottom.

Since you might ask, the test case was captured on a clean site:

    • Fresh install of the latest WordPress
    • Awesome Support is the only plugin active
    • The current theme is Twenty Twenty-Three

    Hi @deltafactory

Thank you for the information. I will investigate it and let you know about any follow-up.

    Regards
