Should be no problem. We have sites with up to 450.000 photos.

It is recommended to have no more than 20.000 photos in a certain album, and you should set page sizes for albums, photos and slideshows no larger than 100, for performance reasons.

    Hi Jacob,

I still have a couple of questions about your plugin.

Can I allow my users to create albums and upload their photos?
Where can I see the plugin’s backend?
Where can I see the user’s control panel, where to upload, edit, delete their albums/photos?

    Thanks!

Please register on the documentation site: https://wppa.nl/

    Then visit: https://wppa.nl/members/

You can read how to and experience there the user upload/create (sub)albums features.

If you want them to use the back-end for upload and create albums, see:
https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/admin-pages/ on how to give rights to the various admin pages, and https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/admin-pages/album-admin/ for album admin, and https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/admin-pages/upload-photos/ for upload and https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/admin-pages/import-photos/ for import.

    Hi

I am very impressed by WPPA, but I need to know how to create categories.

I have about 20.000 albums, in about 300 categories. I have installed the plugin but I can figure out how -if possible- to create them.

    thanks!

You can add categories to albums like tags to photos. It works the same way.

Catogories: [ edit field ] Separate categories with commas. Examples: [ selectionbox with existing categories ] Select to add

They exist automaticly as soon as you define them in an album category edit field. They also vanish automaticly if no album has the category.

You can also (altarnatively) create a tree structure of albums, by changing the parent of a (child) album. You find the parent of an album as a selectionbox in the Photo ALbums -> Album admin -> Edit screen

Parent album: [ selection box of potential parent albums ] If this is a sub album, select the album in which this album will appear.
