I just tested above link in a testing site and worked well.
Also keep in mind that latest Nouveau template of BuddyPress isn’t fully supported and breaks during the posting (ajax request), while a page refresh should display all links correctly.

Is there a link of your website that you could share here with us?

Here is the website I use it on. I have an account set up for goofing around. It doesn’t matter who uses it so I’m not worried about posting it here.

I could notice a console error when visiting /members/guest/ page. As this isn’t reproducible in my testing server, when I use no other plugin and TwentyFourteen theme, this should be some kind of conflict with another plugin.
Could you please backup all files and database, then start deactivating plugins one by one, checking each time to post a link in your Activity page, until issue is resolved thus finding the conflicted combination.
Using a staging site, meaning another WP installation in the same server, being a complete and exact copy of the live site, would make things even easier for you.
