    Hi there,
I have a client who uses this plugin and they have complained twice now about not getting notifications. The first time I logged in (as administrator) and the notifications fired and sent the emails immediately to the client?
The second time was yesterday when she complained about not getting the notification and then when logging in again it triggered the emails to be sent? Do you know what would be causing this?

    Hi @newcastlecreativeco,
    Thanks for your message.

Firstly, it’s worth installing the Post SMTP/Email Log plugin to ensure that emails are being sent out and logged correctly. I’ve found this helps troubleshoot these kinds of issues.

Which notification(s) are set-up that are not being received as expected?

Thanks for getting back to me.

So the only notification I have on is ‘New Comment Notification’. The emails do eventually get sent, however it’s like they are ‘stuck’ on the website until a user logs in.. Then they get sent?

    Hi @newcastlecreativeco,
It could be that your host is doing something with the cron or alternatively, caching is causing an issue somewhere.
If you have any caching plugins on your site, it might be worth disabling them to re-test. Think someone had a similar issue recently – it might be worth searching this forum to see if you can find the thread.

    Thanks for the response.

So I deactivated all cacheing software and did a test but the same issue arose.

    1. I posted a test comment.

    2. The email notification was sent to me (the administrator) of the site, but not the desired email address specified in the plugins settings

    3. The client logged in and approved the comment at which point she got two email notifications. Email 1: The notification of the comment in the first place. Email 2: The approved comment email.

Do you have any other suggestions as to why this might be happening? Everything else is completely up to date.

    Hi @newcastlecreativeco,
Just a thought, have you looked at the documentation for the notification on this page, just to make sure you’re using it correctly: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/notifications/available-notifications/

Also, have you looked at the ‘Send this notification to the Author’ section of this page: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/notifications/adding-a-new-notification/
