User Membership Dates Lost

We have a membership site and I’m trying to track down whether it is a plugin error or something to do with WooCommerce as the two are integrated. I have made sure the WooCommerce settings/accounts are retaining all info. No purge dates.
A couple months ago I noticed a number (50ish) people in our users no longer had join or expiration dates. These people were also missing from their membership category. I repaired the damage (I always have prior downloads to refer to). Then in August it has happened again.
Not the same users. Not any specific range of dates. Not only one category.
Any thoughts on this??? I have also contacted the membership plugin developer….
