I recently allowed user registration on my site. I was checking the working of Login pages and I found the issue which is caused by wordfence. Whenever I tried to login as a user it is showing wromg credentials even everything that I typed was correct. When I deactivated the plugin everything works normally. Would you please let me know how can I fix this issue? As I don’t want to uninstall wordfence.

Hi @sophia27smith, thanks for your query and sorry to see you’re having these troubles.

Is your user registration enabled through another product such as a management/forum/store plugin? I ask this as our 2FA and ReCAPTCHA offerings in Wordfence > Login Security do not currently work with login pages other than the default WordPress login pages. Are you using either of these features or are they enabled at the moment?

Failing this being the cause, you could also please try loading the user login page while keeping a Browser Console open to see if you can detect any JavaScript errors or see files that fail to load? If you see any red text in the console, please take a screenshot of it, upload to Snipboard and paste the link here. I will help interpret the errors with you.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

yes, I am using a custom login form and I don’t want any user to go to the WordPress default login page. For this reason, I am using frontend user login. Is there any way I can use wordfence with this custom frontend login plugin?

Thank You very much for your help!

    Hi @sophia27smith thanks for confirming,

You can use the frontend user login page, but it will not work with 2FA or ReCAPTCHA enabled in Wordfence and return the wrong credentials message due to not being able to verify the 2FA or ReCAPTCHA code, as it’s not present in the code on that page.

Our development team do have a plan to support alternative login pages in the future, but I am unable to comment on delivery timescales.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
