User Login Issue
-
Clean install
No Plugins installed ever.I have some users on my main site (which has bbpress installed) that are able to login; however, when they redirect to the home page it has the normal log in boxes as if they never logged in. They are in fact logged in as they can access their dashboards and view the rest of the site.
I did a clean install of wordpress on a test site and had them all register. They were emailed their default passwords. (Theme: Twenty Thirteen) They would try using the ‘Meta’ login link at the bottom of the page. They were able to login but when they returned to the home page the ‘Meta’ login link was displayed instead of ‘logout’. They were still able to post comments being as they were actually logged in.
One other thing to note. When they would access the ‘Hello World’ default post they could comment on it. It also showed ‘logout’ in the ‘Meta’ links at the bottom. So it’s only the home page that’s having the issue of not displaying them as logged in.
This is only happening to a handful of users. They are all accessing the site using Chrome. (However, many of the rest of us use Chrome as well and it works) They all tried using different browsers (I.E. and Firefox). When they used different browsers everything worked fine. I asked them what addons they had in Chrome and the only addon they had in common was a Norton Antivirus plugin. Could this be causing an error in showing them as logged in on the front page?! (I would try testing it myself but all of the people that are having this issue actually have paid subscriptions to Norton Antivirus..)
I’m completely baffled by this! Anyone have any ideas or could point me to a thread? I’ve tried searching around but to no avail
Thanks!
Eric
