User is able to rate after clearing cookies from browser

  • Hello,

    I am using your plugin in our staging website for blog rating where i came to a scenario where user is able to rate after clearing browser cache even they’ve already rated the post. I am using auotoptimize, speed booster and w3 total cache.

    Even after disabling all three plugin, scenario remain same. Also i am seeing in logs that all user ip is same.

    I am looking forward for support.

    Hello thank you for using YASR.

    Yes, this is how the plugin work: to avoid doulbe rating, a cookie is set. IF the user delete the cookie, it’s possible to rate again.

    There is no control on the IP address because A LOT of people can use the same ip.
    Further, with the new GDPR law, YOU MUST warn your user that you’re storing their ip’s.

    In the Yasr Setting, you can allow only logged in users to rate.
