    user entered “Hi”

    then staff logged in and saw user waiting, then staff accepted chat

    but the initial “Hi” from the user was not displayed on the staff side, so initial user comment was not seen by staff

    Please confirm if you are using the legacy dashboard or the new dashboard (go to Live Chat -> Settings -> Advanced and please let me know if the first checkbox it checked or not).
