    A user of my blog is trying to update his user information in the Edit User page. When he presses Update button, WP (2.0.4) gives an error message like “user id is not valid” (sorry, my blog is localised, cannot see the actual english error message).

    My guess is that it is usage of scandinavian letters (???) in the user-login. However, he created his account successfully in WP1.5. When trying to create a new user myself I get the same error if user name contains such (pretty common) letters…

    Has there been a known change in the WP2, or is this a bug? How do you suggest I try to fix it? Would I need to update other fields than user-login in the database? He

  • Usually usernames and password don’t like anything else than ASCII characters.
    The login/user name can be e.g. “aeou” and you can still choose a nickname “áé?ü” to be displayed as author or user…
