User has to click update profile before adding new post

Hi, I have set up an area within my blog where visitors can register to become content providers and submit posts, here is the link ;

The problem I am having is that when a new user registers and then goes to their profile page, they cannot add a new post (even though the option is there) until they have clicked on the ‘update profile’ button at the bottom of the page.

This also occurs when an existing user logs in to their profile, they first need to click the ‘update profile’ button before the ‘add new post’ options actually works.

Can anyone advise please ?
