• Hi team, just a quick question here about the user account lock by the 2FA plugin.

we have a user who has been locked by the 2FA (and I unlocked him from the User section). From my understanding, the user account lock function should only happy when user didn’t set up their 2FA in the grace period but in this case, the user has configured his 2FA and the 2FA function worked perfectly for a few months but suddenly had the lock issue this morning. If there any other situation that may trigger the user account lock, please let me know. Thanks.

    Hello @leo2003

I’m sorry to see you are having, or at least had, an issue here.

The account should indeed only become locked if a login is attempted after a pre-determined time has passed + the user has not already setup 2FA.

Is the user currently able to login normally etc? If they have re-setup 2FA, are they prompted like for a 2FA verification code upon login usual?

If things are working normally right now, id suggest to take an export/dump of your wp_options table and wp_usermeta tables now. And then if the issue happens again, create another export of each table and we can use them to see whats happening.

Kind regards, Daniel @ WP White Security
