• A few days ago I detected that my page had error 500 (I had not checked it for a long time) and when I tried to enter the WP control I got a message that neither the user nor the password was found.
At one point I uninstalled by mistake the database and the Word application, and the hosting only recovered the database.
I also tried to configure in the wp_user table a new user and it didn’t work. There I found that I had two “ghost” users. Even one of them with a recovery key (which didn’t work either when I tried to request to recover my user with the WP form).
I have a backup from 2 months ago but I’m not sure if the site was working at that time, the “ghost” users were already registered. The reinstallation with the hosting backup could not be completed as it generated an error.
When I want to reinstall WP on the hosting obviously it creates a new database but it saves it in another folder. In the configuration of this new WP installation, I use the same data I had originally (username, password and email) and I can’t log in to the WP panel either (it gives me three chances).
I guess at this point the best thing to do is to start from scratch, and make my site again, but for that I need to know how to log in to WP.
    I appreciate your help.

  • I’d like to assist you in creating a new user in your database. Before we proceed, I’d like to point out a couple of observations I made while checking your site.

I noticed that your site’s wp-admin page at this URL: https://sustent.de/wp-admin is currently returning a 404 error. This suggests there might be issues with your core WordPress files.

To address this, I recommend considering a reinstallation of the WordPress core files. However, before you do that, it’s crucial to take a full backup of your entire site. Here are the steps to reinstall the WP core:

    1. Download a fresh copy of WordPress from this link.
    2. Extract the downloaded zip file to your computer.
    3. Remove the ‘wp-content’ folder from the extracted files.
    4. Compress the remaining files into a new zip archive.
    5. Upload this new zip file to your site’s root directory and extract it there.

This process will effectively reinstall the WordPress core.

Additionally, if you need to create a new admin user in your database, you can follow this guide, which explains how to do it using phpMyAdmin.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions or need more assistance, please feel free to ask.

thank you very much for your willingness to help me!!
Obviously I want to follow your instructions but I would like to know if I can first do a cleanup of all folders and files contained within WordPress. With the various reinstallations of both program and backup of the web have been adding files.
How do I start again from scratch? Unfortunately I can’t do it with a plugin. Should I do something with the database?
