User email address edit is not saved

  • Something has changed with WP. We are no longer able to change a user’s email address. On the Edit User page there are two relevant sections, Contact Info and Customer Billing Address. We can change the email address for Billing, but not for Contact Info. There is no error message, the new value is simply not retained. Does anyone know what is going on?

  • Is see the Contact Info section in my Edit User page but not the Customer Billing Address section. I presume the latter is added by a plugin. Are you using WooCommerce?

    I’m sorry for this very late reply, I didn’t see the notification. Yes we are using WooCommerce. Actually I do now see an error message: “please enter an email address”. I have just updated all the plugins, including a major one for WC, but still have the issue. So WP thinks there is no email address in the contact info section, when there is.
