User Download Links fail, but Work if Logged in

  • Hey Everyone!

    Thanks in advance for any insight you may be able to offer. I’ve been ripping my hair out over this for a few weeks.

    This is the issue I’m having:

    Products are delivered electronically to customers with a link to download. Although I can download the files when logged in as administrator, the links don’t serve the files to users after making their purchases. the link redirects to the receipt, but doesn’t initiate the download

    (FWIW, the links (hidden URL)die after 3 downloads)

    Is this something I need to adjust in folder permissions via FTP, or something I adjust via wordpress? Or is there another reason this is happening?

    The file delivery is done via a plugin (cart66), but I have the nagging suspicion that this problem has to do with something besides the plugin (because the links work if I’m logged into the site)which I why I am asking here.
