I am setting up PMPro with Stripe.
I’m curious where customer billing information is stored and how. Is it contained in the WordPress database, or does the info go directly to Stripe and nothing is stored on our server aside from user profile data?

If it’s on our server what steps are taken to encrypt sensitive data like CC numbers, and passwords? Are they salted and hashed?

We are working on the language of our privacy policy and terms & conditions and want to make sure things are stated correctly.

    Thanks!

  • Hello!
Thank you for using Paid Memberships Pro. Paid Memberships Pro does not store credit card information in the WordPress database. When a customer checks out they are assigned a unique identifier by Stripe. Stripe then saves the credit card data on their servers which can then be accessed using the unique identifier.

I would recommend that you secure your login and admin area using SSL to protect login and non-financial personal data. Hope this helps. Thanks again.
