User capabilities and restrictions…
-
Hi,
1. I would like to give a couple of people access to my site wirh ‘administrator’ privileges (with slightly reduced capabilities though). But I would like to ensure that they don’t intentionally or accidentally delete or edit me (my user account) from the ‘Users’ section. I created a user account for myself with a custom role (administrator clone) where ALL 100 capabilities are ticked / turned on, and administrator-clone accounts for them where some capabilities are turned off. But still, I cannot prevent them from the capability of deleting or editing my user account / listing, or even hiding it from them. I can probably prevent them from accessing the ‘Users’ section / listing from the Admin menu altogether by denying list_user capability, but I need them to be able to use the ‘Users’ section and add/delete/manage *other* users – just not me! I tried the “Admin Menu Editor” plugin, but it too seems unable to hide or lock specific users. I couldn’t find any other plugin either which can do this.
So, how can I achieve my goal? How can I hide a specific user (me) from everybody else or lock it from getting deleted or edited by anybody else with admin access? Is there any plugin for this or can it be done in any other way?
2. This question is also somewhat similar to the above. How can I lock (not hide) certain or all pre-existing plugins (installed by me) from getting deleted, edited, or deactivated by my ‘guest admins’. They should be able to UPDATE them though, when necessary. Is this possible? Is there any plugin for this or can it be done in any other way?
# I am new to WordPress, so any easy-to-understand answer will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
