User can’t update fields??

  • Hi,
    please I have a registration form that contains many fields (phone, address, ..) must be filled by any new user, and I want the user to be able to change these values if he wants.

    In the [ultimatemember_account] form, it is only allowed for user to update first name,last name and password fields only.

    I’ve added these fields (phone, address, ..) in the profile form, Ultimate Member->Forms->Default Profile Form( Edit) inside dashboard. But users can’t update them in profile page.

    So, I’ve added the custom fields in the account page as described here

    but the problem now is that I can’t change the values in these fields; i.e. the old values of these new added custom fields (values stored from registration process) can’t be updated.

    Please help me to solve this problem.

    Hi @monaabdelkader,

    The fields which you are referring to can be changed on your User page.
    Please go to the Ultimate member -> Settings -> Setup and make sure that you’ve correctly assigned User page. Also, check that your user page contains profile form shortcode which you can find in Ultimate member -> Forms -> your profile form.

    I encountered the same problem. I checked Ultimate member -> Settings -> Setup, user page is assigned properly. Checked the same page and it has the proper shortcode of user profile. Still, there’s no place to edit the custom fields assigned in the default registration. Not on the WordPress Dashboard -> Users, neither the user profile.

    On the user profile header image, user image, and about can be updated. On account settings username, first name, last name, and e-mail address can be updated (changing password has a side tab).

    Where can be the issue?

    Hi @ver1nty,

    Do you see the “Gear icon -> Edit profile” section on your User page?
    This issue may be caused by theme/plugin conflicts, can you please try to do a conflict test and see if this issue goes away.
    Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure.

    unfortunately, my website is published and it’s not easy to make this conflict test, but I want to ask if this issue is caused by theme/plugin conflicts, how it can be solved in this case?
