User can see old User’s orders and address [WooCommerce]

    Dear Community,
    we are having a problem with user’s seing other user’s order and billing information. First of all, let me outline the setting.

    We had an old online shop which needed to be redone. So we set up a fresh WordPress installation (including a new DB) on a subdomain. At this point I’m not sure whether the old site was “BackUpBuddied” onto the fresh installation or if only the WooCommerce data was exported and imported. The problem is though, that if somebody now sets up a new user account he can see one or more orders from a different customer that ordered through the old site. Everything else in Account Information, Addresses etc. is empty, only if he clicks on “Orders” he’ll see an Order ID, Date, Status, Total and can even click on “Show” and see the billing and delivery address including the e-Mail Address. It won’t show the order or any items but this super sensitive data.

    So we were trying to find those old orders and just delete them, since we have them backed up on the old site anyway but we just can’t find them. How can we solve that problem? We absolutely appreciate any kind of help!

    Thank you for reaching out.

    If your new site contains previous order information but not previous users, it is possible that a new user is created on the new site using a user id that has already been assigned to existing orders.

    The only way to confirm this would be to examine the database, and the fix would likely be a manual adjustment. You may want to set up a staging version of the site, so you can explore without risk.
