Since a few weeks every “normal” user (subscriber) is alerted via email as admin when logging in. It tried different ways to findy out why, but without success. Can anybody help me? Does anybody know about this problem?

  • Hey @merlin1764,

Are you using any plugins that alter the user capabilities? If so, can you try resetting the user capabilities and let me know if it helps?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

I’m using a lot of plugins.
They all work very well (without problems).
I don’t know which plugin how to reset, I won’t do any experiments with my users or loose data when resetting something.

I can give you a list of the used plugins:
    404page, antispam-bee, better-robots-txt, better-search-replace, block-bad-queries, borlabs-cookie, broken-link-checker, category-posts, classic-editor, column-shortcodes, countdown-timer, csv-to-html, dsgvo-youtube, easy-panorama, email-subscribers, events-manager, f2-tag-cloud-widget, foobox-image-lightbox, foogallery, footnotes-made-easy, front-end-pm, header-footer, health-check, heartbeat-control, http-headers, iframe, insert-php-code-snippet, jquery-collapse-o-matic, list-category-posts, maxbuttons, mcafee-secure, megamenu, mod_wordpress_magicscroll, pdf-embedder, php-code-widget, php-compatibility-checker, php-everywhere, post-state-tags, public-post-preview, quiz-cat, randomize, rate-my-post, redirection, remove-admin-toolbar, remove-footer-credit, remove-google-fonts-references, restrict-anonymous-access, reveal-ids-for-wp-admin-25, sem-external-links, server-ip-memory-usage, shapepress-dsgvo, shariff, shortcode-variables, simple-sitemap, taxonomy-terms-order, team-members, ultimate-category-excluder, ultimate-member, um-online, updraftplus, user-role-editor, widget-css-classes, widget-options, wordfence, wordpoints, wp-crontrol, wp-gdpr-core, wp-last-login, wp-maintenance-mode, wp-paginate, wp-polls, wp-post-expires, wp-postviews, wp-rss-retriever, wp-serverinfo, wp-useronline, wpematico, wpforms-lite

    Hey @merlin1764,

The user-role-editor plugin you mentioned is likely the culprit. Can you please try resetting the user roles to see if it helps? Simply disabling it might not as the user role capabilities have already been changed.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Okay. I did it.
I will watch it for a few days.
Then I’ll let you know if it is fixed.

    Hey @merlin1764,

Sounds like a plan. Please do let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    All is working fine now.
Users now are correctly alerted as “User Login”.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hey @merlin1764,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear it!

Please let us know if anything else comes up.

    Thanks,
