Hi Team,

so reopening this thread again, as the issue is still occurring and came back even at me (got locked out of few sites we’re managing when trying to visit using FireFox).

With User agent banning option turned on (Empty Headers off) website’s users are getting thrown into the “potentially harmful” bag (This user agent is considered bad bots and may harm your site.).

Let me know what you need to debug this as this has been going on for weeks now and on most sites we had to turn off the agent banning option in order to prevent lockouts for clients. Also, please provide an email address as we won’t be sharing data publicly.

Please provide all possible data including the list of the banned user agents and Site Health report which you can get from the WordPress admin dashboard Tools->Site Health->Info->Copy site info to clipboard

@wpmudevsupport15 there are no entries added. The field is empty. The plugin uses default settings. The user agent banning module has only been turned on, with no additional modifications committed.

Hi @nuadagency

We recently updated the Defender codes on how it gets the site IP, can you try this code: https://gist.github.com/patrickfreitasdev/16b6416f9a83139961780398e8181869

Add it as a mu-plugin https://wpmudev.com/blog/wordpress-mu-plugins/ then check if you can replicate the issue again.

If not, this may be related to this update, and I can see there are more improvements coming in the next version, but in case the issue persists we will need to keep troubleshooting it.
