• Why why why are there so many backup plugins on worpress that do not have a restore function, I’d give it a rating of zero if I could, wasted too much time on this.

  • Because the restore can easily made by hand. I can link you a instruction for the restore if we have finished the translation. As second we working in moment on a restore functionality that is in Beta stadium.

    I think a missing feature is not a ground to give only one star.

    I’m interested by the link to restore …
    btw, the copy by email doesn’t work, but it’s ecommerce with a lot of pic so it may be heavy

    Yes, sending big archives with email is a problem, but normely not of the plugin ?? I use this for sending DB Backups only.

    Restores easily made by hand? One missing feature? Yes the most important one. Your instructions are about imports with FTP and MySql commands, for the average person these are not easy and some people might not even have this access, and if you knew these methods you would not need your plugin, and easy restore would be one click like your export I am sorry but I am standing by my review.

    @toktojoe

    Why would you even try a plugin without reading its description and waste your time when it doesn’t have the feature that you need?

    You are spoiling the plugins’ ecosystem. Have you ever written a plugin and hosted it here in wp.org?

    @toktojoe If you really need a backup plugin with restore function there are plenty of paid plugins available like this one or this one.

    This is a great plugin. Even without the restore feature, having backups on autopilot is the reason to have this plugin. Yes, the restore is done easily enough manually.

    I always head for the 1-star reviews first to see if there is a legit issue with the plugin. In this case, there isn’t. The first two 1-star reviews on the list are by people who can’t read. It’s like going on a Toyota forum and complaining that the Echo is not 4WD and you got stuck in the mud. Well, not exactly. Toyota isn’t giving their hard work away for free.
