• I was looking for a quick easy solution to get all my custom post images a universal size basically without affecting the image, just trimming the fat on the ones that were too big. The only functional option I found in this plugin was a square crop. That seemed to work fine. There is an option for a custom crop, where you can specify image dimensions. But when you go into the field to crop the image it gives you a random sizing box that doesn’t tell you what height vs what width. Sure you can crop at some random image size that you have no clue what it is. But, that’s not very useful, I don’t want pictures that are stretched to fit the dimensions. I want a crop. Too bad. It looked like the perfect tool until I tried it out.

    Hi there,

Would you mind explaining further what you were expecting this plugin to achieve for you? To my knowledge it does pretty much exactly what it says in the plugin description.

The goal of this plugin is to allow developers to configure image fields to pre-specified sizes giving the site administrator the option to crop images without having to deal with various image sizes and not least photoshop.

Also, I answered your support request – you have to use the “Target Size”-option to choose what size you want the image to be cropped to. It can be any size and does not have to be square.

If you need assistance, please use the support thread instead of writing a misleading review.

    Best,

I’m very sorry, but the plugin didn’t work for me.
I also had problems restoring my image fields after I removed the plugin.
All I wanted was a quick and easy way to crop images to a specified size. 225px X 165px or something to that effect.
Even though I specified those dimensions under custom size, when cropping the image it still allows you to select random dimensions. With no indication of what height or width you are choosing.
I did not want to change dimensions of the photo in the least. Only crop it to an exact size.
I have decided at this point not to use a plugin and am cropping in standard photo software on my laptop.
Again, very sorry but your plugin did not have any use for me.

In support of the plugin author, this plugin does everything as described and is an excellent (FREE) tool that’s ready for production use. Not sure what this other reviewer is talking about.

Thanks Anders for taking the time to build and share your plugin!
