• Installed on a pretty clean Woo store on a high-powered VPS with a couple hundred orders. Ran the rebuild as instructed. An hour later, no data at all in any of the new screens. Nothing in schedule actions. Oh, and for reasons nobody knows, the Woo dashboard widget is now gone after installing this.

    NOPE.

  • Hello @co50 – sorry you have encountered some issues with the plugin. I have been able to reproduce the bug that started in the current version with the Dashboard widget no longer showing ( https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-admin/issues/2137 ) we will get that fixed for the next release.

    > An hour later, no data at all in any of the new screens.

That is quite odd indeed, I have not encountered that issue myself. Are there any jobs listed as “complete” inside Scheduled Actions? ( /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-status&tab=action-scheduler&status=complete )

If not jobs are shown there, that would point to the jobs never being enqueued to process the historical data. I’d be happy to help work through the issue with you – did you populate the data from a backup or another means? If there is a way I can either access the data set, or re-create a similar environment I could dive in a bit further.

Thanks for taking the time to test out the plugin, again I’m sorry you encountered some issues.

    Hope this helps….

Action Status Count Oldest Scheduled Date Newest Scheduled Date
    Complete 31 2019-04-17 13:04:16 -0400 2019-04-30 12:48:40 -0400

    Pending 2 2019-04-30 13:48:40 -0400 2019-05-01 13:15:07 -0400

    Canceled 14 2019-04-30 12:26:02 -0400 2019-04-30 12:26:07 -0400

Thanks @co50 a bit helpful indeed as it does seem some jobs have been processed. I’d love to see a screen grab of the Complete and Cancelled pages – first page would be fine.

The number of Cancelled jobs does cause me to pause a bit – as depending on the job type, that could result in the no historical data you are experiencing.

Canceled page has nearly the same thing 10 times:
wc-admin_process_customers_batch, and then non-repeating, but arguments for each entry is one higher than prev (eg. 0 =>2, 0=> 3, etc.)

Completed page has one item from today and then nothing going back until 4/24. Item from today is wc_admin_unsnooze_admin_notes

Not to sound like a jerk, but I don’t really have the time to get this to work. If I did, I’d have started a Support ticket. But the review was important since the plugin doesn’t work at all out of the box actually makes things worse. Once the plugin comes out of Alpha, I’ll definitely revisit and of course change my review accordingly.

Thanks @co50 – no worries, thanks for your input and honesty. The bug for the dashboard widget has already been fixed and will be in the next release.

The cancelled jobs definitely are the reason why no historical data is showing for you. I haven’t seen this myself so without a copy of the data I can’t help much further there.

I will say in our next release that we have some enhancements coming that will allow more control over the historical data import. So if you have time or feel up to testing again, would love to have your feedback on a newer version.

Timmy, do you have a date for the next release?

@cristianciuberea we are planning to do a release today.
