<p class=””>I tried it years ago when JP Boost was released, so I tried it again but it’s not a good solution for in-depth asset optimization. JP support is very uneven too which doesn’t help. Personally I’m getting much better optimization results with Hummingbird Pro (pay for the pro upgrade it’s worth it).</p>

    Hi @playagroup

I’m sorry that Jetpack Boost didn’t work out for you.

Jetpack Boost has a more limited set of functionality than other optimization plugins like (WP Optimize), so it isn’t surprising that the results you got from Boost don’t match what you got from a plugin that has additional features (minification and database optimization).

Instead of a broad feature set, Jetpack Boost focuses on:

    – Optimizing CSS Structure
    – Deferring Non-Essential Javascript
    – Implementing Lazy Image Loading

For many sites, these features have a large impact on site speed, but there are many variables that affect site speed. If you would like to try Boost in the future and run into specific issues, please let us know in the forums.

You’re missing the actual point, Jetpack Boost did NOTHING — I wasn’t running an A/B test comparing it to WP Optimize I’m simply sharing in the above review that the metrics that JP Boost showed in my WP dashboard were those of a website that was underperforming, and those metrics NEVER improved with JP Boost for a long time so as far as can and Dreamhost could tell is didn’t optimize anything nor did my page load speed improve, at all. But once I installed WP Optimize to optimize by WP DB certain metrics did improve, immediately. The inherent bloat baked into WP is at the root of a lot of website ‘performance issues’.

Any suggestion for a plugin that will minify CSS / HTML and Javascript without me having to go and get an Engineering degree? Don’t suggest “Autoptimize” or “Fast Velocity Minigy” — I’ll share more about those two when I review them later here at www.remarpro.com.

If you would like us to look at your site to see why Jetpack Boost didn’t improve your site, you are welcome to post a thread on the forum:

We aren’t able to advise on specific plugins beyond Boost. However, with your cooperation, we may be able to help determine why Boost didn’t perform as expected.
