Useless if…

  • you don’t install another plugin. In fact after installing it, it will notify you that the plugin can’t be used without the installation of another plugin.

    Yes, all WPSSO add-ons are for the WPSSO Core plugin – this is not an uncommon feature (WooCommerce being a good example). The use of add-ons is designed to provide features that some users may need, but not all users. ??

    WPSSO Core Plugin Required

    WPSSO Schema JSON-LD Markup (aka WPSSO JSON) is an add-on for the WPSSO Core plugin.

    WPSSO Core and its add-ons make sure your content looks best on social sites and in search results, no matter how webpages are shared, re-shared, messaged, posted, embedded, or crawled.

    Why would activating the WPSSO Core plugin with its WPSSO JSON add-on be any more difficult than activating a single plugin with the features of both? The downside to a single combined plugin like this would be that JSON features would be forced onto the 66% of WPSSO Core users that do not use the JSON features.

    You’re using the plugin page to upsell so you have invited any feedback about that experience. That functionality needs a paid add-on doesn’t matter and feedback about that is allowed.

    You upsell on the plugin page. You are literally selling plugins using the free hosting on this site. That’s fine to a point.

    @jdembowski The WPSSO JSON plugin is an add-on plugin for the WPSSO Core plugin – both are free, nothing to do with any Premium version.

    There are Premium versions available, of course, but I don’t see how that’s relevant – the reviewer has rated WPSSO JSON 1 star because it is an add-on plugin that requires the WPSSO Core plugin, like any of the many thousands of WooCommerce add-on plugins that require the WooCommerce plugin.
