• i was frustrated by not knowing where to start once I loaded it, but eventually got there. Hopefully the introduction will explain the basic idea so you dont have to go directly to the help section to understand the rudiments.

@farnhamg – Thanks for your feedback. It would be great for you to expand on these ideas, especially about the introduction.

Were you not able to find our documentation here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/help/ … we do make every effort to provide useful information from that page.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Sorry i was a bit harsh. Basically it is frustrating if there isnt a small introduction to orientate the new user – If you had had at least this paragraph from your help section in the “about” in Dashboard so it is the first thing users see: “As of v2.0 of NextGEN Gallery, we have introduced the ability to create, add, and manage your galleries directly from your page or post via the Insert Gallery Window. From your page or post you can do virtually everything, minus edit global settings. “

Better still just explaining the three ways of using the galleries: as above, direct from the dashboard, and shortcodes. I was looking for the above but became frustrated long before I found that item in the help section.

I hope this is helpful, I have reinstalled the plugin and am having a play with it it now. many thanks

@farnhamg – Thanks for this feedback. We do realize there is a learning curve for some of the features and functions we offer.

The idea of providing more inline documentation has come up in team meetings and we are looking at what would be the best methods to add the extra information without creating any clutter on the screen once you are familiar with the processes involved.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
