    Hi Hans,

Yes, the plugin hides shortcodes, that’s what it says in the plugin description alongside a brief info about how it works in general.

Removing shortcodes automatically from the database can be really dangerous and can cause a mess on your website.

The main purpose of this plugin is to be active once you switch to a new theme or working with another set of shortcodes. So it kinda helps you to keep your website clean on the front-end while you are working with the new theme or new shortcodes. Once you manually remove all of the old shortcodes, you can deactivate the plugin.

I would like to hear your opinion, please let me know if you have any questions?

    Cheers

This 1 star rating is funny cause the plugin desc says “hide” orphaned shortcodes

You think that? I’m still reading “Remove Orphan Shortcodes” ??

Remove as in – remove from the viewport
Fits well if you read the description.

Ratings are meant to rate the functionality – which this plugin does as it says in the description.

I would suggest you read it once and kindly revise the rating accordingly.
^ note: I’m not a part of the plugin devs – just a passer-by who was checking the plugin out.

I read the plugin name. I made my rating based on my opinion. You must respect that ??

Fair enough. This is what the plugin description says.

This is a simple plugin which automatically hides inactive (orphan) shortcode tags you have used for previous themes and/or plugins.

Which is IMHO actually cool though I don’t use this plugin.

As indicated above, people do read the reviews. I’m leaving this one but closing it as it’s not really productive anymore. You’re penalizing the plugin for doing what it says and that’s just being obtuse.

Yes, it’s a one star but people will read this and decide for themselves the value of this review. That author replied well and that’s that.
