    ‘Simple’ is a subjective term – would depend on your tech saviness :), but here’s an article which seems to cover it reasonably well (and thoroughly): https://wp.smashingmagazine.com/2012/03/01/inside-the-wordpress-toolbar/.

    I’m not sure if I would add this into core though. I’ve always felt plug-ins that add themselves to the toolbar are a bit… rude… ??

    Indeed, and now I totally agree with you.

    This would be an added and unnecessary piece of baggage.

    Sorry for suggesting it and I will train my users accordingly.

    KILLER plug-in, by the way, with only a few other “issues”.
