Useful but seems hopelessly convoluted

I have not found anything better than this plugin for podcasting so I don’t know if all the dials and levers of this system are essential or if there is a more simple way to go.

With each new version it just seems to become more complex and hard to configure correctly. One good case in point is the category podcasting option which creates a duplicate of the controls for each category. This leads the user to constantly wonder what needs to be set up in the basic feed settings and what needs to be done only per category. I have still yet to figure out how to make subscribe links or even a subscribe page link work from category only podcasting.
