    Hello.

    I installed your great plugin.

I have choosen the wrong page for 404 page and seloected my homepage and saved.

Now it is excluded from the sitemap.

I tried to select an other page and hoped my homepage would be included in the sitemap again. But it is still not included. I use Yoast sitemap.

Is there a way to include the page in sitemap again?

    Best regards

Hello again. Dont feelrushed, but I have some additional Information:

First: The page i have this issue is https://www.heirats-manufaktur.de – I put in the wrong page in my first post.

    In this forum I found:
It is perfectly correct to inform Google that a page does not exist. This is exactly what the HTML code 404 is intended for. This informs Google that the page should be removed from the index. That is not a negative thing.

I ask myself is the 404 page marked as “don′t show in the index” and how can i remove this mark manually? I changed the 404 site but still have problems to crawl the site which is not 404 anymore in google search console. I get an 404, but the page is ok and not set to be 404-page. How can i tell google it is a normal page or delete the marker on my page?

Hope you understand? I am not a pro but working on my skills.

    Best regards

    Marcus

    Hi Marcus,

sorry for the delay. As far as I know all sitemap plugins cache the created sitemap for some time. This sounds like a caching problem to me. Please check how to clear the sitemap cache of the plugin you’re using to create the sitemap.

By the way, you cam write in German…

    Regards,
    Peter
