Found this plugin very useful until there came out version 3.xx. With this came messages in the Admin-Area, Slowing Down of the whole installation, User-Roles, that i never asked for (maybe more, but after seeing this, i turned it off). Therefore replaced the Plugin everywhere I could find it.

For me an example, where developers tried to invent something very sophisticated (in German we would say: die Eierlegende-Wollmilch-Sau) and while trying this, forgot about users and usability.

    Hi perryzelda,

For me an example, where developers tried to invent something very sophisticated (in German we would say: die Eierlegende-Wollmilch-Sau) and while trying this, forgot about users and usability.

Actually it’s quite the other way round: When a plugin like BackWPup becomes very popular, questions are likely to arise for the plugin author how to keep up with development and support.
Many developers at that point opt into splitting their development branches, offering a continuously free version plus an additional Premium/Pro version with extra features and extra support. Often times the alternative would simply be for the plugin to degrade in quality or even be discontinued over time.

So yes, we did have to fix some issues in this major update, but the update itself happend mostly because we do consider the interests of our plugin users.
