Used to excellent…

  • This is a great plugin, have used for years and had the paid version early on. Now using free version. But things have changed and not really so impressed these days.

    I understand the need to monetize, it keeps the plugins solid and but free. I 110% believe in support plugin devs, they make the WordPress world rock.

    My issue is got an email from developer offering one of their paid plugins free. It in fact was free to download and install. But not free to keep, cannot update. I do not like tactics like this and avoid devs that play like that.

    Yes, from the official site, an email has been sent inviting <b>try</b> the custom welcome emails, a feature added to a specific premium addon (the CF7 integration) unlocking it for a few days (it has been a premium addon since the first day).

    I’m sorry if that induced a bad experience but no limitations have been added to the Newsletter plugin. That addon can be removed if it is not of interest, or kept installed (at no cost it is free to keep) if it can help to create a better subscription experience for your user.

    I’m happy to know you’ve been using the Newsletter plugin for so many years, I hope the free version is satisfying all your needs. We continuously improve it, sometimes with small things and other times with bigger ones (but not “visible” to everyone like the last refactoring to improve the multilanguage support).
