Used QuickInstall in Hostgator, problems…

    Hi, I took advice from my previous question on this forum and managed to install WP using QuickInstall at HostGator where I am paying for hosting. I have a domain name.
    I have allegedly successfully installed WP…but when I go to my site, I just get the GoDaddy (where my domain name is parked) and don’t get a WP log-in even when I put ‘wp-admin’ at the end of the URL as advised in HG’s help video. Tried reinstalling WP, still the same issue….meaning I still can’t use WP at my domain to start creating my blog there.
    Please offer your wisdom in a way that I, a newb, can hopefully understand ??

    You’ll need to make sure that you have your hosting space at Hostgator configured to use your domain (this needs to be done through Hostgator) and that you have your domain’s nameservers pointed to Hostgator (this needs to be done through GoDaddy).

    Have got my domain pointed at HG via GoDaddy. Have just configured HostGator to use my domain.
    Have uninstalled the QuickInstall installation version of WP on Hostgator and installed it with Fantastico. Same result….it says it has installed ok, but WP dashboard won’t open even when I add ‘wp-admin’ to the end of my site’s URL.

    What is the domain name that your blog should be loading at?

    You need to wait for the domain name to propagate as some times it takes a day or two

    Still nothing other than a single page website I stuck up. No access to WP at all as far as I can see. The owner log in bit is for my GoDaddy username and passowrd, not the HostGator/Worpress ones. Got email saying I should go to that URL to access WP………but not there ??

    recheck at Go Daddy and see if you changed the name servers to point to host gator

    Are you sure you registered your domain name at Go Daddy
    as I see this in whois

    Yes, I registered with privacy.
    @govpatel – well done. I checked the name servers and although I know I pointed them at HostGater during set-up, they needed to be done again.
    I’m up and running….thanks to you ??
