use WP as a CMS with members?

  • can I use WP as a CMS to allow registered members to contribute events to a schedule and items to a classifieds listing? I currently have a site running DotNetNuke, but its difficult to modify and doesn’t have the wide range of plugins and support that WP has so I’m looking to switch. I would need a registration page members can register (no charge) so they can add events to our kayaking calendar and add/remove items from a classifieds listing. Would help to have plugins that support membership, calendar/events and classifieds listing.
