Use WordPress as a Photoblog

Hello!

I’m playing around with the idea to change my blog to a photoblog for a few months right now… I only use it for sharing my images and albums with other people at the moment, I don’t need so much posts in the old way. So I tested an alternative to WordPress completly written for exactly my purposes; Pixelpost. But I don’t like it, it’s to small for me and you can’t use it as a CMS like you were able to with WordPress. And I have to admit; I think WordPress is one of the best web CMS even if it’s not planed to be used as CMS!

So I thought, that there might be some way to use a WordPress-Blog as photoblog… That means first, that I need a template for WordPress which is as good as the beautiful templates for PixelPost… You can have a look at my new PixelPost-Blog, that i set up to get an impression of the Blog System: https://xserver.bplaced.de/web/

Are there templates that are similar to the one I’m using on the page above? And are there some extensions that were created to optimize the blog for photo sharing?
