use the content from the long description

im sorry i didnt explain correctly,
what i need is: take the long description even if there is something in the short description

I hope you’re fine today!

The %%excerpt%% macro will automatically used the post content if the excerpt is empty but I’m afraid there’s currently no “out of the box” way to “force” it to only use that.

This would require some custom code but I’m not quite sure yet how complex it would be so I need to consult that with our developers.

I’ve already asked them to take a look into it and they’ll check. We’ll update you here once we got response.

Please note that in description settings in SmartCrawl you would need to replace the

%%excerpt%%

tag with

%%content%%

after the snippet is added to the site. Did you do this? If not, please give it another try.

I checked it and it actually does work, even on your site. You can confirm it by looking into the product page source coded in browser or by running product page URL via this tester

It does not show this “long description” content in back-end (when editing product) only and that is because the code works in “real time”, replacing the %%content%% tag on fron-end when the page is prepared to be send to browser.
