Use tags instead of trunk?

Hello!
First of all, nice plugin ?? Very useful!
But are you guys planning on using tags for each new version instead of running it from trunk? It make the life very hard for those of us that uses composer and WPackagist!
IMO the best solution would be to always create a new tag for each new version.
What are your thoughts on this topic? ??Best regards, Robert Sather.
