Use shortcodes in Default Text field

    I want to be able to populate the Default Text with meta data which I can grab using shortcodes. Is there a way I can enable shortcodes in the Default Text field, maybe using a filter? Or is there another way to access meta data to populate the Default text field?

    With the essentials add-on you can do that using “Shortcode” formulas. This feature was just released yesterday so there is no documentation about it yet (it will come in the following days) but basically you just need to go to the formula editor click in the “ShortCode” field and set up your shortcode:
