• I know this has been addressed a few times in various forums but I am having a hard time getting this straight. I have hosting through Bluehost which offers a free SSL certificate: https://secure.bluehost.com/~segretof

I have a site hosted at a subdomain. So, I entered the following:
https://secure.BlueHost.com/~segretof in the SSL Host section (left port blank) and did not check any other elements, though at some point I would only like to secure my woocommerce checkout pages, the other ones do need to be secure.

So with this plugin activated I still get the privacy error when I go to a checkout page on my site. Eventually this site will be on the primary domain on the account so I don’t think it will be an issue but I’d like to get it working on the sub. Thanks in advance.

  • I am having the same problem, I believe. I am hosting through webhostinghub.com and can access the shared SSL through a temporary URL. I am struggling to figure out how to use this plug-in so that only my checkout pages are forced to be secure.

If I enable this plug-in to only go secure (using temporary URL) when I go to my checkout page, I navigate to a webhostinghub.com page that customer support said basically means “I don’t know where you are trying to go”.

If I disable this plug-in, the only way to get my checkout process to be secure is if I go to WordPress general settings and change my WordPress and Site addresses to the temporary url my host provides. This means my whole site goes secure and changes all of my permalinks to be the webhostinghub domain and not mine.

I am thinking this plug-in should be my answer and make it so that I identify only certain pages I want to be secure, but when I do that, my temporary URL does not work because it is somehow getting confused.

I know there have been threads all over the place, like senordeer mentioned, but I just can’t seem to get it straight, even though it seems like it should be easy.

    Help! Thanks!

    temporary URL: https://secure39.webhostinghub.com/~bigcre7/

Ok, I lied, using the URL settings within WordPress -> Settings doesn’t fix my issue. I thought it did because it loads all of the pages, but it turns out payments don’t actually work because of security issues.

So, back to square one. Broken website.
